Kyiv Hit by Russian Missile Attack Overnight, Leaving Casualties and Damage.
Missile Strikes Target Kyiv
According to TSN.ua: In the early hours of February 12, Russian forces launched a missile attack on Kyiv, injuring two people. The strikes were recorded in the city's Dniprovskyi and Darnytskyi districts. Air raid alerts were active from 02:15 until 05:20 local time.
The assault resulted in injuries to a 45-year-old man and a 20-year-old woman. Preliminary reports indicate their injuries include:
- blast trauma to the head and limbs
- a laceration to the hand
Both victims were hospitalized to receive necessary medical care. These attacks are part of a wider pattern of strikes on Ukrainian cities that have intensified during the winter months.
Infrastructure Damage Reported
The missile strike damaged the facade of a nine-story building in the Dniprovskyi district and partially damaged the exterior of a sixteen-story building in the Darnytskyi district. These events once again underscore the ongoing danger faced by civilians in the Ukrainian capital.
This incident is part of the continuing military actions in Ukraine and highlights the severe threat to the civilian population. Missile barrages pose risks not only to lives but also to critical infrastructure, which can worsen the humanitarian situation in the region. Deliberate attacks on civilian objects risk creating new waves of displacement and necessitate complex recovery efforts, demanding additional resources and attention from the state and the international community.
