Zelenskyy Sets a Condition After Russia Claims It Will Seize Donbas Within Two Months.
Escalation in Eastern Ukraine
According to TSN.ua: Russia has declared that it could take control of the Donbas region in just two months. In response, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy made it clear that while Ukraine remains open to diplomatic engagement, it will not accept the terms Moscow is offering. He stated that the issue of territorial integrity is paramount, and expressed a willingness to explore compromise solutions aimed at a peaceful resolution.
During a briefing, Zelenskyy outlined Ukraine's stance amid rising tensions. He pointed out that Russia is currently pressuring the United States, even though, in his view, it should be the other way around. The president also noted that 'new deadlines are being presented to the American side once again.' He warned that if Ukraine fails to resolve the crisis within a given timeframe, Russia could seize Donbas and push further into the country.
Ukraine's Diplomatic Push
A call between Zelenskyy, U.S. officials, and the NATO Secretary General is scheduled for April 1, highlighting Ukraine's active efforts to bring international partners into the negotiation process. As he continues to fight for Ukraine's sovereignty, Zelenskyy emphasized the critical role of global support during this challenging period.
The situation in Donbas remains highly volatile, and Russia's two-month ultimatum signals a dangerous escalation. Ukraine's diplomatic outreach to the U.S. and NATO underscores the urgent need for a coordinated international response. With Moscow's imposed deadline adding extra pressure on Kyiv, it is essential for the global community to react decisively and back Ukraine's pursuit of peace and stability.
