Russia shifts its mass-strike strategy: 426 targets hit Ukraine on March 24.
Attack on Ukraine: March 24
According to TSN.ua: On March 24, 2023, Russia changed its approach to large-scale bombardments, employing missile systems to strike critical infrastructure across Ukraine. The Russian military launched a total of 426 aerial threats, consisting of 34 missiles and 392 attack drones.
Ukrainian defenders managed to intercept or neutralize 390 of these incoming threats. Despite their efforts, 6 missiles and 27 drones successfully hit 22 different locations. The massive assault affected 11 regions of Ukraine, leaving at least 4 people dead and dozens more wounded.
Serhii Beskrestnov commented on the situation, stating: 'The attack on Ukraine continues. I suspect we will also see missiles today.'
He further reported that the Russian army had already expended roughly 40% of the munitions prepared for the March 24 assault. These events underscore Russia's ongoing aggression and its determination to damage Ukrainian infrastructure.
This attack marks another escalation in the conflict between Ukraine and Russia, which has been raging for over a year. The adoption of new tactics and weaponry suggests Moscow's military is adapting to battlefield realities. At the same time, Ukraine's effective air defense—which stopped the vast majority of targets—highlights the country's efforts to protect its territory and civilians.
