Ukrainian Air Defenses Intercept Two Russian 'Kinzhal' Missiles Over Lviv.
Lviv Targeted in February 11th Attack
According to Novyny.live: On February 11th, Russian forces launched two 'Kinzhal' hypersonic missiles at the western Ukrainian city of Lviv. The attack occurred around 2:40 PM local time, but Ukrainian air defense units successfully intercepted both projectiles, preventing potential destruction and casualties. Lviv Mayor Andriy Sadovyi expressed his gratitude to the city's defenders, stating:
'Around 2:40 PM, two enemy 'Kinzhal' missiles were heading towards Lviv. Air defense forces neutralized them. This is a titanic effort. We thank our defenders for their protection!' Andriy Sadovyi, Mayor of Lviv
According to the mayor, the attack resulted in no damage or injuries. This incident highlights the persistent threat to Ukrainian cities, even in regions farther from the front lines. That same day, overnight, Russian forces attacked Ukraine with 129 strike drones. Additionally, the enemy struck Bohodukhiv in the Kharkiv region, resulting in the deaths of three children.
The successful interception of the advanced 'Kinzhal' missiles demonstrates the effectiveness of Ukraine's air defenses in certain areas. However, the deadly strike in Kharkiv Oblast underscores the critical and uneven nature of the threat across the country, pointing to the ongoing need for enhanced defensive capabilities nationwide.
