According to Novyny.live: A Russian attack has inflicted severe damage on Kharkiv's energy infrastructure, resulting in widespread power outages and electricity supply disruptions. Mayor Ihor Terekhov reported that the assault has caused major power supply issues, with emergency blackouts now becoming a common occurrence for the city's residents. These attacks are part of a wider Russian campaign targeting Ukraine's civilian energy grid, which has intensified during the winter months.

Critical Damage to Power Supply

Specifically, on February 3, Russian forces damaged Kharkiv's main thermal power plant (TPP). Restoration of the TPP is currently impossible, significantly complicating the city's power situation. A local-level state of emergency of a technological nature has been declared. Ihor Terekhov noted that the company 'Kharkivoblenergo' is doing everything possible to normalize the situation and is adjusting electricity supply schedules based on incoming requests.

The power situation in Kharkiv remains difficult, with the mayor stating there are instances where some buildings are without electricity for 3 to 5 hours. The city's metro is operating on a weekend schedule with 20-minute intervals, allowing for some preservation of resident mobility despite the severe energy supply crisis.
