According to ТСН: In the U.S., competition is increasing for the future of the conservative movement among supporters of President Donald Trump. While Ben Shapiro and Tucker Carlson quickly exchange insults, Vice President JD Vance is trying to maintain the coalition's unity.

Such an opinion was expressed by a political analyst.

Conflict in the Conservative Movement

Among Trump's supporters, a struggle is emerging to define the future direction of the conservative movement. This concerns not only radical theories but also who may become Trump's successor and lead the conservatives in the upcoming U.S. presidential elections.

The ideological confrontation took place at the Turning Point USA conference, founded by Charlie Kirk. After his tragic death, management of the organization passed to his widow, Erica Kirk. Speaking at the event in Phoenix, she immediately expressed support for her favorite in the presidential elections.

“We will ensure that my husband's second guest, JD Vance, is elected as the 48th president in the most convincing way.”

Social Media and Discrepancies

Before Vance took the stage, the conflict between traditional Republicans and conspiracy theorists intensified. Shapiro criticized Carlson for anti-Semitic statements and support for neo-Nazi Nick Fuentes. Podcaster Candace Owens also faced criticism for her hostility towards Jews and spreading conspiracy theories.

“The conservative movement is in serious danger today.”

Shapiro noted that the threat comes not only from the left but also from “charlatans” who undermine the foundations of conservatism. In his opinion, such figures pose a threat to the unity of the movement, capable of actively opposing the left.

The response to these accusations was swift: Carlson mocked Shapiro's speech, and Owens refocused on anti-Semitic attacks, considering that Shapiro is Jewish.

Vance's Speech

When Vance appeared on stage, he was greeted like a pop star. However, in his speech, he avoided mentions of Shapiro and Carlson, and did not support either side in the internal conflicts of the conservative camp. Instead, he emphasized the importance of inclusivity in the movement.

“When I say I will fight by your side, I mean — all of you. Each one. President Trump created the largest coalition in politics not by subjecting his supporters to ideological purity tests.”

For some Republicans, particularly Shapiro, Vance's position may indicate a reluctance to clearly distance himself from radicals, showing a desire to keep space for maneuvering. Ideological flexibility remains a characteristic feature of a politician who has shifted his position from an open critic of Trump to his Vice President.

In the summer, Trump named Vance as his likely successor and favorite in the MAGA movement for the future, noting that this politician is “doing great” with the tasks assigned to him, and suggested a possible political alliance with Marco Rubio.
