According to ТСН: Near Korosten in the Zhytomyr region, a freight train derailed due to a drone attack by 'Shahed'. Four employees of 'Ukrzaliznytsia' sustained injuries.

This was reported by the State Emergency Service.

'As a result of the Russian drone strike on the energy and transport infrastructure of the region, four employees of 'Ukrzaliznytsia' were injured,' the announcement states.

Rescuers evacuated the injured from the damaged locomotives and handed them over to the paramedics. Currently, all fires have been extinguished, and restoration work is ongoing. Emergency services, representatives of all emergency services, 'Ukrzaliznytsia', and volunteers from the Ukrainian Red Cross are working at the scene.

Details of the incident

According to the carrier's information, the freight train derailed as a result of a detonation, likely caused by the 'Shahed' drone. 'Ukrzaliznytsia' reported that significant delays are expected for train 45/46, which has already been taken to a nearby station and is being redirected via a detour route. Changes will also occur for other trains, which will be redirected through Shepetivka, Koziatyn, and Fastiv. Delays may reach up to three hours.

Drone Attacks

According to the Air Force, 86 strike drones of the Shahed type, 'Gerbera', and other types were launched at Ukraine overnight. The Ukrainian air defense shot down 58 drones in the north, south, and east of the country. 26 drones hit 12 targets, with debris falling in one more location.
