Nearly 5,000 Russian Troops Eliminated in Three Days: Ukraine’s Defense Forces Score New Frontline Gains.
Ukraine’s Defense Forces in Action
According to UATV: Ukraine’s defense forces are pressing forward with active operations on the front, eliminating Russian troops and solidifying control over territory. Recent days have seen significant enemy losses and successful counterattacks by Ukrainian troops. On March 21, Ukraine’s defense forces struck a command post of the Russian 'Rubicon' unit in Mariupol. As a result of these actions, they liberated over 400 square kilometers of land in the Zaporizhzhia and Dnipropetrovsk regions. This marks a notable expansion of Ukrainian-held ground in a critical area.
Since the start of the day, 43 combat engagements have been recorded on the front. Russian forces have lost access to the Starlink system, which could hamper their ability to coordinate battlefield operations. In the Lyman-Borova direction, the 3rd Army Corps of Ukraine’s Armed Forces thwarted a massive Russian assault that targeted seven axes simultaneously, involving 500 infantry troops and roughly 100 pieces of equipment. Over three days, Russia has lost nearly 5,000 of its military personnel. In the past 24 hours alone, Ukraine’s defense forces eliminated 1,240 Russian soldiers, reflecting the intensity of Ukrainian frontline operations.
Overall Losses and Attack Axes
Total losses for the Russian army now exceed 1,286,000 personnel. As Andriy Biletsky noted:
“For a month and a half, we observed signs of an offensive being prepared.”
This underscores the prolonged and intense nature of the fighting. Additionally, Commander of the Joint Forces Oleksandr Syrskyi emphasized:
“The activity of superior enemy forces demands new, asymmetric solutions from us.”
This highlights the need for Ukraine’s troops to adapt their tactics to the realities of modern warfare.
Key axes of Ukrainian attacks include:
- Pleshcheyivka
- Rusyn Yar
- Ilyinivka
- Novopavlivka
- Rodynske
- Myrnohrad
- Molodetske
- Belitske
- Varvariwka
- Staroukrainka
- Yelenokostiantynivka
- Zelene
- Myrne
These actions demonstrate the resolve of Ukraine’s defense forces in the fight to regain control of territory and eliminate the enemy.
The frontline situation remains tense, with continuous combat clashes and active counterattacks from both sides. The loss of access to modern communication systems by Russian troops could significantly impact their operational effectiveness. This, in turn, opens up opportunities for further successful actions by Ukrainian forces, potentially becoming a key factor in the conflict’s next phases. Adapting tactics and strategies to evolving battlefield conditions will remain a crucial component of Ukraine’s defense and offensive efforts.
