According to ТСН: Holiday feasts do not always have to be accompanied by feelings of guilt. Experts have calculated how many steps are needed to burn the calories from the most favorite festive drinks and dishes. The results turned out to be quite optimistic, especially for champagne lovers.

Champagne – the lightest drink for the figure

Among festive drinks, champagne is the least caloric. One glass contains about 90 calories, and to burn them, one needs to walk 1692 steps, which corresponds to about 17 minutes of walking.

In second place are wine and cider. Each of these drinks has about 120 calories, which requires 2256 steps or 23 minutes of walking.

The third place is occupied by mimosa – a popular festive cocktail. It contains about 140 calories, and to burn them, one needs to walk 2632 steps or 26 minutes.

Which drinks are harder to burn off

Even more caloric drinks do not require significant physical efforts. For example, the cocktail “Espresso Martini” contains about 160 calories, for which one needs to walk about 3000 steps, or half an hour.

Hot punch based on whiskey, honey, and spices will require 3196 steps or 32 minutes of walking.

Hot chocolate requires even more – 3647 steps, which corresponds to 36 minutes of walking.

The most caloric drinks are egg-nog and beer, for which about 3900–3950 steps are needed to burn, or almost 40 minutes of walking.

Holiday dishes: what is easiest to walk off

Experts also studied traditional festive dishes. The least caloric among them turned out to be baked turkey. A standard serving contains about 142 calories, which can be burned off by walking 2858 steps or 29 minutes.

Second place goes to baked potatoes. It contains about 190 calories and requires 3572 steps or 36 minutes of walking.

The most difficult to compensate was the festive stuffing. One serving contains about 356 calories, and to burn them requires walking 6693 steps or more than an hour of active walking.

Is it necessary to walk 10 thousand steps?

Health experts note that regular walking improves heart function, helps control weight, and positively affects mental health. New studies show that even moderate activity yields significant results.

In particular, a 15-minute daily walk can significantly reduce the risk of cardiovascular diseases and premature death. Scientists concluded that even minor but regular changes in movement habits bring noticeable health benefits.

Thus, one can confidently assert that holiday feasts are not a reason for neat thoughts about calories. Knowing how much one needs to walk to burn a certain amount of calories from favorite dishes and drinks can help people enjoy the holidays without unnecessary worries. And regular physical activity will always remain an important aspect of maintaining health at any time of the year.
