Putin's Special Envoy Awarded in the USA for Dialogue with Russia: Details.
According to ТСН: The special envoy of the President of Russia Vladimir Putin and head of the Russian Direct Investment Fund Kirill Dmitriev, who plays an important role in negotiations with the USA regarding peace in Ukraine, received an award from the American Chamber of Commerce in Russia.
Dmitriev announced this event on social media X, posting a photo of the award he received on November 29.
He was honored with this award for "leadership in promoting dialogue between the USA and Russia."
In his post, he also noted that over 150 American companies continue to operate in Russia, emphasizing that 70% of them have been in this market for 25 years—since Vladimir Putin came to power.
Comments on US Policy
Commenting on the award received, Dmitriev accused former US President Joe Biden of a policy that led to American companies losing over 300 billion dollars in profits in Russia.
At the same time, Dmitriev did not comment on the reasons for Biden's policy towards Russia.
Negotiations and Sanctions
It is recalled that at the end of October, President Putin urgently sent his chief negotiator on Ukraine, Kirill Dmitriev, to the USA to resolve the situation after sanctions were imposed against Russian oil companies.
During his visit to the USA, Dmitriev tried to persuade Americans to continue dialogue with the Kremlin, placing the responsibility for the breakdown of negotiations over Ukraine on Europe.
US Treasury Secretary Scott Busse, commenting on Dmitriev's remarks, characterized him as a propagandist.
Thus, the award received by Kirill Dmitriev reflects the complex relations between Russia and the USA, especially in light of tensions due to sanctions. At the same time, Dmitriev's comments indicate his desire to maintain communication between the two countries, and the discussion of economic losses affecting American companies becomes an important element of their political strategy.
