Sumy Water Utility Switches to Emergency Power, Implements Scheduled Water Supply.
Water Supply Situation in Sumy
According to TSN.ua: Following a Russian airstrike on a residential area of Sumy on the evening of January 17, the city's water utility has been forced to switch its facilities to emergency backup power. This disruption to the electrical grid has made the move necessary.
As of 4:45 PM on January 18, the utility's facilities were already operating on emergency power. From this date, water will be supplied on a strict schedule and at reduced pressure. On the evening of January 18, water will be available from 5:00 PM to 10:00 PM. If the power issue is not resolved, the supply for January 19 will run from 5:00 AM to 10:00 AM.
Critical Information for Residents
This emergency power situation in Sumy underscores how the ongoing conflict continues to disrupt essential civilian infrastructure and daily life. The implementation of a water schedule highlights the need for utilities to adapt to prolonged, challenging conditions.
It is vital for local authorities and service providers to keep residents updated with timely information regarding water supply and other critical resources during this difficult period.
