The Prime Minister of Sweden discussed the rights of LGBTQI veterans: what will change for Ukraine

The Prime Minister of Sweden, Ulf Kristersson, held a meeting with Ukrainian LGBTQI veterans. He also spoke with representatives of the public organization RFSL at the Sager Residence.

This is what Kristersson wrote on Instagram.

According to him, these people not only fight at the front and support resistance in the war against Russia but also embody the liberal values that Ukraine defends.

Kristersson emphasized that currently in Ukraine same-sex couples do not have the opportunity to officially marry or register a partnership. He highlighted the importance of full legal protection of the rights of all minorities, including LGBTQI community representatives, as part of Ukraine's Euro-integration process.

'As a strong supporter of Ukraine, Sweden will carefully monitor the fulfillment of these obligations,' the Prime Minister stated.

It should be noted that recently President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky signed a decree appointing a new ambassador to Sweden. The position was taken by Svitlana Zalishchuk. Before that, Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson stated that Sweden would continue to contribute to the swift and substantial provision of military assistance to Ukraine. Stockholm is one of the largest donors in support of Kyiv.

The Prime Minister of Sweden, Ulf Kristersson, met with Ukrainian LGBTQI veterans, supported their rights, and called for the full legal protection of all minorities within the framework of Ukraine's Euro-integration process. Sweden supports Ukraine in important issues such as military assistance and the rights of the LGBTQI community.
