What We Know About the Lviv Attack
According to TSN.ua: A terrorist bombing occurred in Lviv on February 22, involving two separate explosions. The horrific attack resulted in the death of a 23-year-old police officer. As of 12:00, 20 people were being treated in Lviv hospitals, some with severe injuries. Several victims are in critical condition, with three reported to be in a very serious state.
The explosions were reportedly timed to target first responders. The first blast was followed by a second, more powerful explosion after police, rescue workers, and medical personnel arrived on the scene. Dmytro Sniehiryov commented on the situation, stating:
'This is a classic tactic: an initial explosion, a wait for law enforcement, rescuers, and medical personnel to arrive, and then a second, more powerful blast intended to maximize casualties.' Dmytro Sniehiryov
The expert also noted that the coordinated nature of the attacks points to strikes on energy infrastructure. He indicated that similar patterns have been observed not only in Lviv but also in:
- Kropyvnytskyi
