According to ТСН: The Security Service of Ukraine, together with the National Police, detained three individuals who committed a double terrorist attack in the Darnytskyi district of Kyiv on December 11. The suspects were apprehended within six hours after the explosions. They acted under the direction of Russian special services.

According to law enforcement, the detainees are Ukrainian citizens aged 23, 25, and 27, originally from Odesa and Donetsk regions. They worked in construction in the capital and were looking for "easy money" in Telegram channels, where they were recruited by the enemy.

The criminals received instructions to carry out the attack. To avoid attracting attention, they purchased components for improvised explosive devices from various stores.

“After making the explosives, they placed them at coordinates given to them by their handler. To broadcast and coordinate the explosion, they set up mobile phones nearby that transmitted video to the enemy in real time,” the statement reads.

The first explosion occurred in an industrial zone where national guards were patrolling. One of them was killed, while another soldier and a guard were injured. The next explosion happened when police arrived at the site of the incident, resulting in injuries to two police officers.

“The SBU and National Police promptly identified the perpetrators and arrested them at their place of residence. Within the framework of the criminal proceedings under the article 'terrorist act resulting in death,' the criminals will be notified of suspicion,” the SBU reported.

Recall that on the afternoon of December 11, an explosion occurred in Kyiv on Revutskoho Street in the Darnytskyi district. It was reported that as a result of the detonation of an unknown device, one person died, and another was injured.

The head of the public council under the Ministry of Internal Affairs (2019-2021) Volodymyr Martynenko noted that the enemy disguises explosives as ordinary objects, so it is important to pay attention to everything around us. This can include phones, bags, or documents. In case of noticing suspicious items, it is necessary to urgently call the relevant services.

This incident highlights the seriousness of the security situation in Ukraine, as well as the danger posed by planted explosives. Authorities will continue to take measures to prevent terrorist activities and protect citizens.
