Investigation launched after man dies in Zdolbuniv train incident
According to TSN.ua: Authorities in Zdolbuniv are investigating the death of a 44-year-old man who was hit by a train on April 1 at around 5:30 PM. The victim was crossing the railway tracks at an unauthorized location. According to law enforcement, he was speaking on his mobile phone at the time, which may have distracted him.
The train driver applied emergency brakes, but could not prevent the collision. The man died at the scene. A pre-trial investigation has been opened for violating traffic safety rules. Criminal proceedings have been initiated under Part 3 of Article 276 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
