Zelensky to meet Tusk in Warsaw: what the leaders will discuss.
According to ТСН: Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk plans to meet with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on December 19 in Warsaw.
Polish government spokesman Adam Szłapka confirmed this information during a press conference. He noted that the meeting could take place after the European Council meeting in Brussels, which will last on Thursday and Friday. If the negotiations do not drag on, the visit of the Ukrainian president to Poland will take place.
“I know that President Zelensky is very eager to meet with Prime Minister Tusk in Poland on Friday. We will certainly organize such a meeting,” emphasized the spokesman of the Polish government.
Szłapka also reported that Donald Tusk and Volodymyr Zelensky had already had a conversation on Monday in Berlin, where they discussed the planned visit of the Ukrainian president to Poland.
Information about the planned meeting has also been communicated to the marshals of the Sejm and Senate of Poland — Włodzimierz Czarzasty and Małgorzata Kidawa-Błońska. According to Czarzasty, the president of Ukraine is expected to arrive at the Sejm around 1:00 PM. The meeting will also involve the Deputy Marshal of the Sejm Monika Wielichowska and the head of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Sejm Pawel Kowal.
Senate Marshal Małgorzata Kidawa-Błońska clarified that negotiations with Volodymyr Zelensky will focus on further support for Ukraine.
Recall that earlier Zelensky discussed the supply of ammunition with the President of the Czech Republic.
This meeting will be an important step in strengthening bilateral relations between Poland and Ukraine, as well as for discussing current security issues in the context of the military challenges that Ukraine faces. We hope that the results of the negotiations will contribute to further support for Ukraine from Poland and other European partners.
