According to TSN.ua: A 34-year-old man strangled a woman in the city of Bila Tserkva, Kyiv region, during an attempted robbery. The incident occurred when the woman tried to stop him from stealing 400 hryvnias and other valuables from her. The hryvnia is the national currency of Ukraine, and 400 hryvnias is equivalent to a relatively small sum of money.
The assailant not only took the 400 hryvnias but also seized the victim's mobile phone and jewelry. Following the crime, the suspect was apprehended by officers from the Bila Tserkva District Police Department. Authorities report that the man has a prior criminal record for property crimes, indicating a history of illegal activity.
