In the Czech Republic, a Ukrainian was detained for the murder of a 22-year-old compatriot: the motive was money.

According to ТСН: In the Moravian-Silesian Region of the Czech Republic, near the town of Frýdek-Místek, the body of a 22-year-old Ukrainian woman who became a victim of a crime was found.

Circumstances of disappearance and discovery

Initially, the girl was considered missing. A search was announced on November 25, with acquaintances noting that they last saw her a few days prior.

The girl's body was discovered on December 3 in the Oleszna stream, near Frýdek-Místek. Forensic examination confirmed that she died as a result of violence, but the police did not specify when the murder exactly took place.

“The woman was strangled. Together with our colleagues in Frýdek-Místek, we initiated a large-scale investigation involving a significant number of police officers, dog handlers, and divers,” reported Lukáš Richter, regional head of the 1st department of the General Crime Department.

Arrest of the suspect

The day after the body was discovered, a 33-year-old Ukrainian was arrested, who, according to the investigation, admitted his guilt. The crime, according to law enforcement officials, might have occurred due to financial disputes:

“The motive was their mutual disagreements; the accused promised the woman to return the money that belonged to her from a previous job. It was supposed to be a deposit for her salary. Thus, he lured her out of her place of residence,” Richter explained.

It is known that both were in the Czech Republic legally: the man had been living there longer, while the woman arrived after the war began. At present, the suspect is being held in custody, facing a sentence of 12 to 20 years in prison.

It has been reported that the deceased 22-year-old Ukrainian was Andriana Ofrim, originally from the village of Kobiletska Polyana in the Rakhiv district of Zakarpattia. After all procedures are completed, the girl's body will be handed over to her family and transported to Ukraine for burial.

This tragic event has caused widespread resonance among the Ukrainian community, particularly in Zakarpattia.
