The US State Department on the key to ending the war in Ukraine

The Deputy Spokesperson of the US State Department Tommy Pigott named the crucial moment needed to end the full-scale war in Ukraine. According to him, the key to peace is negotiations.

Tommy Pigott said this during a briefing in Washington.

Tommy Pigott, a representative of the US State Department, noted that negotiations are necessary to end the full-scale war in Ukraine.

In response to a question about trust in Putin, who prolongs the negotiation process, Pigott noted that the key to a diplomatic solution to the conflict is involving all parties in dialogue.

'This is not a question of trust, it is a question of actions. The president described how disappointed he is with the actions we have seen from Russia in recent weeks. He spoke about the need to see actions, not just words...Engaging the parties in negotiations is the key to a diplomatic solution to this conflict', Pigott explained.

Recently, Donald Trump, answering a reporter's question about the deadline for the Kremlin dictator, said that the effect of this deadline 'would depend on Putin'.

Earlier, Trump responded whether Putin should first meet with Zelensky before meeting with him.

The representative of the US State Department emphasized the necessity of negotiations to resolve the conflict in Ukraine, involving all parties in dialogue is a key element for achieving peace. It was also noted that the compliance with the deadline and Putin's meeting with the President of Ukraine depend on him.
