The Diia app will introduce a feature for obtaining a firearm permit.
The Diia application will allow users to obtain and renew permits for firearm possession. This was announced by the Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, Bohdan Drapiatyi.
From 2023, citizens will be able to use the Unified Register of Weapons and the electronic cabinet for weapon owners, which will significantly simplify the procedure for submitting documents for obtaining or renewing permits.
Earlier, the Ministry of Internal Affairs conducted a survey among users of the electronic cabinet. The survey revealed that citizens wish to have access to maps of shooting ranges and shooting grounds, as well as workshops for weapon repairs and weapon shops.
There is a high demand for the continuation of the digitization of services, and this is our main priority in the system of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, assigned by the Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, Ihor Klymenko, - stated Drapiatyi.
We remind you that the Diia application has introduced the option to join the Army of Drones. After submitting an application, a person will be assigned to the unit they chose, and only those who already have a signed contract will undergo basic military training. Fitness for service is also confirmed independently at the stage of submitting the application, so passing the Military Medical Commission is not necessary.
The Verkhovna Rada has adopted bill number 9538, which grants civilians the right to possess and use firearms and ammunition obtained from the Ministry of Internal Affairs for protection against armed aggression from the Russian Federation.
Thus, Ukrainians will be able to use trophy weapons during martial law and 90 days after its expiration, provided that such weapons are declared.
The law also requires civilians who find firearms to notify the police within 24 hours for further surrender or declaration.
