Attack on Energy Workers in Dnipro: Residents Forcefully Prevented Power Shutdown

According to ТСН: In Dnipro, residents of one of the neighborhoods attacked a team of energy workers who arrived to disconnect electricity in their homes.

The situation was commented on by the energy company PrJSC “PEEM 'CEK':

“During the performance of official duties, the operational response team of PrJSC 'PEEM 'CEK' was repeatedly attacked by residents of the houses on Akademika Yangslya Street.”

Previously, several houses were not disconnected from electricity supply due to their belonging to critical infrastructure. Now, the energy workers were forced to switch to manual disconnection, which met with resistance from local residents.

“Unfortunately, it came to physical violence causing bodily harm and damage to our employee's personal property. These incidents also caused significant delays in restoring electricity supply in section 5.2.”

The energy workers emphasized that the presence of houses on critical infrastructure lines does not give them advantages, so disconnections will continue on general grounds.

Residents who attacked the workers were warned that relevant materials would be forwarded to the police to open a criminal proceeding.

Recall that in Odesa, people held protests by blocking roads due to absence of electricity, and a similar situation occurred near Kyiv in Kryukivshchyna.

The events in Dnipro indicate growing tension between energy companies and the population suffering from power outages. Conflicts in such cases can lead to serious consequences, so it is important to seek dialogue and understanding. Energy workers, for their part, emphasize the need to adhere to rules and norms while performing their duties.
