According to ТСН: A 7-year-old boy tragically died in a dental clinic in Kyiv, and the anesthesiologist has already been charged.

According to the Kyiv City Prosecutor's Office, 'under the procedural leadership of juvenile prosecutors of the Sviatoshyn District Prosecutor's Office in Kyiv, a 39-year-old doctor – anesthesiologist has been charged with improper performance of professional duties by a medical worker, which led to the child’s death (part 2 of article 140).'

Circumstances of the tragedy

In March 2025, dental treatment was conducted on the boy under general anesthesia at a private dental clinic. During the administration of anesthesia, his heart stopped, and resuscitation efforts yielded no results – the child died.

Investigation and consequences

As part of the criminal proceedings, a number of expert examinations were conducted, including a commission medical examination, which confirmed that the patient's death occurred from acute heart failure due to the administration of a drug prohibited for individuals with the condition the boy suffered from.

The Prosecutor's Office also reported that after reviewing the work of the dental association that provided services to the child, the Ministry of Health revoked its license.

Additionally, in December 2023, Ukrainian musician Viktor Pashnik spoke about a difficult situation in his family, when his 5-year-old son Veles fell into a coma in the Ori-Dent dental clinic during surgery to remove baby teeth under general anesthesia. Unfortunately, the child also died.

This tragic incident caused a public outcry, highlighting the importance of safety in medical procedures, especially for children. The question of the need to strengthen control over medical institutions has become a hot topic of discussion among parents and medical professionals.
