In Kyiv, a recidivist was arrested: a drunken man attacked people with a knife in the yard.
According to ТСН: In Kyiv, a 40-year-old man, while in a state of alcohol intoxication, created a dangerous situation by threatening passersby with a knife. The incident occurred in the yard of a high-rise building in the Obolon district, where law enforcement was called by eyewitnesses.
When the police arrived at the scene, they found that the attacker was trying to assault a driver sitting in a parked car. The man was waving a knife, trying to open the car doors, damaging the body and preventing the driver from leaving the yard.
Threatening with a knife, the assailant provoked a conflict with a couple passing by. During the scuffle, he knocked the man to the ground, causing him to fracture his forearm. The victim was hospitalized.
The police quickly arrested the attacker, who turned out to be a local resident with a criminal past—he had previously been held responsible for similar crimes.
Investigators informed the man of suspicion under part 4 of article 296 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine—hooliganism. This article provides for up to seven years of imprisonment. During the pre-trial investigation, the offender will remain in custody.
Additionally, in Kyiv, a driver was detained who hit a 13-year-old girl at a pedestrian crossing.
These events indicate a rise in violence in the city and highlight the need for enhanced security measures. Law enforcement continues to investigate both incidents with the aim of ensuring the safety of residents.
