Authorities were alerted after a group of teenagers, including a 16-year-old boy, were involved in setting off fireworks. Following a report to the emergency line 102, patrol units and an investigative team were dispatched to the scene. In Ukraine, the unauthorized use of pyrotechnics in populated areas is a serious offense due to safety risks.

During a search of the area, an empty firework launcher was discovered. One of the teenagers involved stated:

"I found the fireworks on the street and decided to set them off"
