A headquarters for energy is being created in Kyiv: Shmyhal will coordinate the situation.
Formation of a coordination headquarters in Kyiv
According to TSN.ua: A coordination headquarters is being established in Kyiv to monitor the electricity situation. Against the backdrop of the introduction of a state of emergency in Ukraine's energy sector, the newly appointed First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Energy of Ukraine, Denys Shmyhal, will head this headquarters. It will operate on a permanent basis, ensuring effective coordination of actions in the capital.
Volodymyr Zelensky confirmed that a headquarters will be set up to coordinate the situation in the city of Kyiv. He also noted that a state of emergency will be introduced in the energy sector of Ukraine overall. This decision has become necessary due to the current challenges in the energy sector.
Actions to ensure the stability of the energy system
Repair crews and rescuers of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine are working around the clock to respond to potential problems with electricity supply. In addition, starting from January 15, hourly blackout schedules will be implemented in all regions of Ukraine, as well as power limitation schedules for industrial consumers. These measures aim to ensure the stability of the country's energy system.
The establishment of the coordination headquarters responds to the need for stability in energy supply under emergency conditions. The implementation of blackout schedules aims to distribute the load on the energy system, which will help avoid major interruptions in electricity supply. These steps are crucial for supporting Ukraine's energy security, especially in the context of increasing challenges in the energy sector.
