According to TSN.ua: The Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center has issued a yellow-level weather warning for Kyiv and the surrounding oblast. The alert is due to hazardous conditions, specifically ice and black ice forming on roadways, and urges the public to exercise extreme caution while traveling. On January 27, ice formation is expected, which is likely to disrupt traffic. From January 27 through 31, changeable and mild weather is forecast, with a mix of wet snow and rain. According to the forecast, temperatures on January 30 will range from -1°C to -6°C, dropping to as low as -10°C in some areas; the capital itself will see lows of -3°C to -5°C.
Even colder temperatures are predicted for January 31:
- Across the oblast: -7°C to -12°C at night, and -5°C to -10°C during the day;
- In Kyiv: around -10°C at night, and -6°C to -8°C during the day.
Drivers and pedestrians are advised to be especially vigilant to avoid accidents and injuries on slippery surfaces.
