Military man in an off-road vehicle caused a fatal accident in Kyiv: mother of two children dies.

According to ТСН: The State Bureau of Investigation is looking into the circumstances of a fatal accident in the Holosiivskyi district of Kyiv. As a result of the collision, a female passenger in the car died, while her two daughters were injured and hospitalized.

Details of the tragedy

The accident occurred in the daytime at the intersection of Akademika Zabolotnoho and Ivana Sirka streets.

According to the investigation, on December 27, 2025, a mother with two minor daughters and their aunt were heading to celebrate with relatives. At the intersection of Akademika Zabolotnoho and Ivana Sirka streets in Kyiv, the car in which the family was traveling stopped at a red traffic light. At that moment, an off-road vehicle driven by a serviceman, who grossly violated traffic rules, crashed into it at high speed,” the statement said.

Consequences and condition of the injured

The impact was so severe that the young woman sitting in the passenger seat died before medical personnel arrived.

Both of her daughters were urgently taken to the hospital with injuries of varying degrees of severity. According to doctors, their lives are currently not in danger, and they are under medical supervision.

Legal qualification

The investigators of the SBI have opened a criminal proceeding under part 1 of Article 415 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (violation of driving rules or vehicle operation leading to death).

What threatens the perpetrator:

• The sanctions of the article provide for up to five years of imprisonment.

• Currently, the issue of notifying the suspect and selecting a preventive measure is being decided.

It is worth recalling that recently in Kyiv region, a minibus drove into the oncoming lane, resulting in an accident involving Jeep and Volkswagen vehicles. As a result of this incident, one person died, and 13 were injured.

This tragedy serves as a reminder of the dangers on the road and the importance of adhering to traffic rules. Authorities and the public must take measures to prevent such cases from occurring in the future.
