The son of astronaut Kadenyuk found dead in Kyiv: police investigating murder.
According to ТСН: On the morning of December 10, 41-year-old Dmytro Kadenyuk, the son of the first astronaut of independent Ukraine Leonid Kadenyuk, was found dead in Kyiv.
The body of the deceased was discovered by his mother, Vira Kadenyuk, in an apartment on Lesya Ukrainka Square. According to the testimonies of family friends, Dmytro lay by the front door, had multiple wounds, and was holding a knife in his hand. Investigators did not find a suicide note. Based on the nature of the injuries, there is a suggestion that there may have been a struggle.
Police Investigation
The police have initiated a criminal proceeding for 'intentional murder' and are establishing the details of the incident. An investigative group and a forensic expert are working at the scene.
A police statement says: “Today, around 08:00, law enforcement received information about the discovery of the body of a 41-year-old Kyiv resident with stab wounds in one of the apartments of a local high-rise building.”
It is also noted that after the death of Leonid Kadenyuk, disputes arose within the family regarding the inheritance, in particular, a 4-room apartment in Pechersk. Vira Kadenyuk reported that she and her son received threats from Volodymyr, the astronaut's son from the first marriage, who also claims ownership of the property.
Additionally, at the beginning of December, the body of a 22-year-old Ukrainian woman who went missing a week ago was found in the Czech Republic. She was discovered dead in a water body near the city of Frýdek-Místek. She became a victim of a deliberate crime, with a 33-year-old Ukrainian suspected, and the probable motive being financial disputes.
This tragedy highlights not only the personal losses in the Kadenyuk family but also the chaos surrounding inheritance issues and family relationships. The situation has sparked widespread resonance, as the name Leonid Kadenyuk remains in the history of Ukrainian astronautics, and his legacy is now at the center of conflict. The investigation into Dmytro's death continues, and society awaits new details that may shed light on this tragic event.
