A military officer in Lviv has been charged with using physical force
According to ТСН: In Lviv, the State Bureau of Investigations has charged a military officer from the Shevchenkivskyi district recruiting center. He resorted to physical force against a 56-year-old man instead of conducting a legal document check. As a result of the attack, the victim sustained moderate injuries, including a fracture of the humerus.
According to the investigation, several recruitment center employees suddenly attacked the man in one of Lviv's districts. One of them dealt a strong blow and then, despite the victim's screams and bystanders' remarks, forcibly dragged him into a service vehicle.
“At this time, the recruitment center worker consciously did not turn on the portable video recorder he was provided with. During the medical examination, doctors diagnosed the victim with a fracture of the left humerus, and only after that did they provide him with the necessary medical assistance,” the SBI noted.
The actions of the military officer have been qualified under part 5 of article 426-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine - exceeding authority and official powers, which caused moderate bodily harm. This article prescribes a punishment of imprisonment for up to 12 years.
The SBI has already submitted a motion to the court regarding the selection of a preventive measure for the suspect. The procedural leadership is carried out by the Lviv Specialized Prosecutor's Office in the defense sphere of the Western region.
Additionally, an investigation is ongoing in Lviv regarding the circumstances of the death of Territorial Defense Center military officer Yurii Bondarenko. The suspect in his murder, 30-year-old Hryhorii Kidruk, has been remanded in custody for a period of 60 days.
This situation highlights serious problems in regulating the actions of military personnel and ensuring law and order. Cases of such high-profile incidents require vigilant oversight from law enforcement agencies and society to ensure justice and prevent similar cases in the future.
