Explosions were heard in Saratov and Engels: Russian air defense repelled a drone attack.
According to ТСН: On the night before December 8, residents of Saratov and Engels heard a series of loud explosions in the sky. Local Telegram channels report approximately five powerful strikes.
According to the propaganda resource SHOT, Russian air defense units were allegedly active in the region, trying to repel attacks from 'Ukrainian drones.' However, no official information has been received from the Russian authorities.
At the moment, there is no information regarding damage to objects or injured individuals. Local emergency services are not providing comments on this matter.
Earlier in Engels, explosions were already recorded due to drone attacks, as the city is home to an important Russian long-range aviation airbase.
It is also worth noting that recently there were reports of drone strikes on the Ryazan Oil Refinery, which has already been attacked nine times since the beginning of 2025.
The events in Saratov and Engels indicate ongoing tension in the region as a consequence of the conflict between Russia and Ukraine. Such incidents can affect security and stability both in the cities themselves and in neighboring areas. It is important to monitor the further development of the situation and official reports from local authorities.
