The incident occurred in the Bialolenka district. The abducted boy has been handed over to medical services. The police detained the 36-year-old citizen of Ukraine, who is the former partner of the child's mother, but is not his biological father or legal guardian.

The event arose during a conflict between the man and his former partner. He decided to take her 9-year-old son despite the mother's objections. 'Around 1 PM, we received a report of the abduction of the 9-year-old boy from his home against his mother's objections,' said Senior Inspector Paulina Onyshko from the Regional Police Headquarters in Warsaw VI.
Search for the boy
After the abduction, active searches for the child and the abductor began. The police determined that the man was moving with the boy in the Bialolenka area. Preliminary information indicated that he was keeping the child in green spaces near Obrazkova Street, refusing to communicate with law enforcement for a long time.
Detention and investigation
Negotiations began after 5 PM. Police negotiators and other units participated in the operation. According to the statement, 'the man refused to cooperate with the police for many hours and did not want to return the child.'
The operation concluded after midnight: the 36-year-old man was detained, and the boy was taken for a medical examination. 'The boy has already been taken from the man and is under the care of medical services. The operation is ongoing,' the Polish police reported.
At this moment, the man remains in custody; he could not explain his actions. The police have launched an investigation, which includes plans for an interrogation and clarification of motives. They are also verifying whether he was under the influence of psychoactive substances.
