According to information, at an altitude of over 2000 meters, a Boeing 777-200 flying from Moscow to Phuket caught fire in one of its engines. The fire was extinguished, but the plane spent 1.5 hours in the air, circling.

Earlier, it became known that the number of aviation accidents in Russia has significantly increased. According to official data, there were 17 cases of aviation accidents last year, while in 2023, only 8 were recorded. Meanwhile, the number of fatalities increased to 37, compared to 12 in previous years.

Since the beginning of 2025, four aviation events have already occurred in Russia, including two accidents and two disasters, resulting in 53 fatalities. The official version from the Russian side was stated as:
