The debate between vice-presidential candidates Tim Walz and JD Vance in the USA focused on issues of illegal migration, economy, abortions, and the Middle East conflict. During the discussion on the Middle East, the candidates refrained from taking a stand, refusing to answer questions about supporting a preemptive strike by Israel on Iran. Tim Walz accused Donald Trump of inaction in the Middle East, while JD Vance claims Trump made the world safer. Additionally, the candidates discussed the problem of illegal migration at the border with Mexico, with Vance accusing Kamala Harris of canceling Trump's policy on illegal immigrants, and Walz calling for cooperation between Republicans and Democrats in creating immigration legislation. They also discussed issues of abortions, Trump's statements regarding their support, the 'Roe v. Wade' case, and the economy and inflation. Vance blamed Harris for high housing costs and rising prices, while Walz assured that the corresponding policies would make housing more affordable for US citizens.

In the United States of America (USA) in New York on CBS News, a debate was held between vice-presidential candidates Tim Walz (Democratic Party) and JD Vance (Republican Party).
They discussed issues of illegal migration, economy, abortions, US citizens' problems, and the escalation of the conflict in the Middle East. Ukraine was not mentioned once.
The debate took place five weeks before the presidential election and three weeks after the presidential candidates’ debate between Kamala Harris (Democratic Party) and Donald Trump (Republican Party). The main difference of these debates — the microphones of both participants were on all the Time.
The first question of the debate concerned the current conflict in the Middle East, asking both participants if they would support a pre-emptive strike by Israel on Iran to disrupt Iran's nuclear program — neither candidate answered.
Tim Walz stated that Donald Trump should not be allowed into the White House because he 'turned towards Putin and North Korea' and also, he will not help to correct the situation in the Middle East.
Republican candidate JD Vance stated that 'everything depends on Israel, and they need help to defend themselves from opponents'. He said that Donald Trump 'made the world safer' when he was president.
JD Vance accused Kamala Harris of canceling Donald Trump's policy on illegal migration. He supports Trump's statement that 'the flow of illegals must be stopped and the construction of the wall on the border with Mexico resumed'. The Republican also mentioned increased crime with the flow of illegal immigrants and blamed the current US Vice President Kamala Harris, who is now running for president.
'20-25 million illegal immigrants in the USA. What should they do? They are taking jobs from American citizens. They need to be deported', — said Vance.
He also called on Kamala Harris to apologize for canceling Trump's policy.
According to Democrat Tim Walz, Vice President Harris was previously a prosecutor and fought criminal groups created by illegal immigrants. Walz says that a fair immigration bill needs to be created, on which Republicans and Democrats should work together. Also, Kamala Harris needed to increase the number of border patrol officers on the border with Mexico, Walz says.
'Trump had four years to solve the problem with illegal immigrants. Only 2% of the wall was built, and Mexico did not return the money for it', — said Walz.
In 2023, the Supreme Court overturned the 'Roe v. Wade' decision. The hosts asked Vance to respond to Trump's statement that he supports abortions in the ninth month of pregnancy. He stated that 'the accusations are not true'.
Meanwhile, Democrat Walz rejected the argument that his party is 'for abortions', saying they are 'for women'.
'In Minnesota, we reinstated the 'Roe v. Wade' case. We made sure to entrust women to take care of their health. We stand for the freedom to make one's own choices', — he said.
In his opinion, if Donald Trump returns to the White House, the Republican will overturn the 'Roe v. Wade' decision. Earlier, Trump stated that the issue of abortions would be left to each state to review individually.
Trump's representative and Ohio Senator JD Vance accused Harris of high housing costs and rising prices. He called for the restoration of American energy and the construction of new housing for citizens. Walz assured that Harris's promise of $25,000 assistance for first-time homebuyers — is not a gift from the state, but part of a policy aimed at making housing more affordable for all citizens.
