Peace Talks with Russia: The US Named Four Documents on the Table

According to ТСН: Four documents are currently being discussed at the peace talks regarding Ukraine. The US is trying to determine what concessions the Kremlin is willing to make to end the conflict.

Possibility of Achieving Peace

US Ambassador to NATO Matthew Vitaker emphasized in his interview that the likelihood of achieving peace is high, but there is also a risk that it may not happen. At the moment, there are no clear indications that Russia is ready to compromise.

'I think there is a high likelihood that we will achieve it (peace - ed.). I think there is a good chance that we will not achieve it. Of course, there is a lack of some signs that Russia agrees with anything being discussed at the negotiating table in Miami.'

Situation on the Frontline

Vitaker also commented on the statement by US Vice President Jay D. Vance, noting that much depends on the aggressor — Russia, so confidence in achieving peace is limited. He observed that the parties have come closer to the threshold of peace than ever before, however, the decisive step must be taken by the Kremlin. During the negotiations, four documents are being discussed in real-time.

'This is a peace plan with 20 points, as well as a kind of multilateral security guarantees, security guarantees from the US, as well as a plan for economic growth and prosperity after peace is established.'

Understanding Ukraine's Needs

The US is well aware of what Ukraine is striving for, but they are also trying to understand what concessions Russia is willing to make.

'I mean, they continue to carry out massive strikes on Ukraine at night. I mean, this somewhat speaks for itself.'

The Role of the US President

Vitaker emphasized that US President Donald Trump is the only one who can bring both sides to the negotiating table.

'What President Trump is really good at is that even amidst all the chaos, he is still ready to see a peace agreement through and determine if such a possibility exists. I think at this moment, as we enter the Christmas season and everyone is celebrating with their families, we should pray for peace.'

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has already informed about the results of negotiations with the US, which involved NSDC Secretary Rustem Umerov and Chief of the General Staff Andriy Hnatov. Drafts of several documents were prepared based on the results, including security guarantees.

It is worth noting that during the meeting in Miami, which took place from December 19-21, Ukraine and the US held a series of consultations. American leader Donald Trump stated, that negotiations to end the war continue to progress normally.

The world is eagerly awaiting the results of these negotiations, as they impact not only Ukraine's future but also regional stability. Despite challenges, both sides continue to seek ways to achieve peace, which is a priority today.
