Explosion at Tallinn Shopping Center: Police Rule Out Terrorism, One Injured.
According to ТСН: On Saturday in Tallinn, at the Ülemiste shopping center, an explosion occurred, resulting in one person being injured. The police assure that this incident is not related to terrorism and is being treated as an isolated case.
This information has been confirmed by representatives of the Estonian Internal Security Service (KAPO) and the administration of the shopping center.
"At this moment, none of the collected evidence indicates a link to terrorist or extremist activities. The threat level has not increased, and the case is considered isolated," said KAPO director Margus Palloson.
The explosion occurred in a waste container on the premises of the Ülemiste shopping center, resulting in injuries to a worker.
Experts from the State Fire and Rescue Service checked all containers in the center and did not find any more hazardous items.
"An explosion in the largest shopping center in Estonia during the pre-holiday week certainly raises concern and anxiety among people. To maintain the sense of security for citizens, we are increasing the presence of law enforcement in crowded places," noted the director of the Patrol Police, Egert Belitsyev.
The management of the Ülemiste shopping center assures visitors of their safety: the premises have already been checked, security has been strengthened, and cooperation with law enforcement continues for the investigation.
"The safety of our guests and employees is a priority. We wish a speedy recovery to the injured person and invite visitors to continue shopping at the center," added Tiia Nyomm, head of marketing and corporate responsibility at Ülemiste.
We remind you that earlier news reported a strong explosion in Moscow at the iconic toy store 'Detsky Mir'. These events highlight the importance of ensuring safety in public places, especially during major holiday gatherings. Authorities and law enforcement continue to work on ensuring order and safety for citizens amid heightened threats.
