In Zaporizhzhia, a woman was sentenced for murder in a bomb shelter: details of the verdict.
According to ТСН: The Shevchenkivskyi District Court of Zaporizhzhia found the woman guilty of intentional murder and sentenced her to 8 years in prison.
What is known about the murder in the bomb shelter
The incident occurred on April 5, 2025, in the bomb shelter of Motor Sich JSC. The suspect and the victim were not acquainted. However, a conflict arose between them when the woman noted the unsatisfactory quality of the washed dishes.
The accused grabbed a kitchen knife and struck the victim once in the left chest. As a result, the man suffered a penetrating stab wound to the heart, which led to acute blood loss, and he died.
The position of the accused and evidence
The accused fully admitted her guilt. She stated that the conflict began due to provocations from the victim. The woman explained that she grabbed the knife and struck the man.
Witnesses confirmed that the conflict started due to the woman’s complaints, which quickly escalated into a fight. After that, the accused took the knife and ran after the victim when he attempted to escape.
The woman had previously been convicted for intentional grievous bodily harm.
The court concluded that by stabbing the victim in the chest, the woman "clearly understood that this could lead to death," which excludes the possibility of qualifying the crime as negligent homicide.
The court's verdict
The court qualified the actions of the accused under Part 1 of Article 115 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (intentional murder) and sentenced her to 8 years in prison.
This case highlights the seriousness of violence in domestic conflicts, which can lead to tragic consequences. The judicial verdict puts an end to this case, but society should pay attention to the need to prevent violence in any form.
