Zelensky before the meeting with Trump: Europe will be in constant contact.
According to ТСН: Before the important meeting with U.S. President Donald Trump, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky is actively communicating with European partners. The main task is to ensure their participation in the negotiations.
Volodymyr Zelensky announced this during comments to journalists.
Europe on the line
The president emphasized that EU leaders are actively interested in the progress of negotiations.
“While we are talking to you, dear journalists, European leaders are writing to me and calling… I will be in constant contact with them. We would like Europeans to be [at the meeting]”
He also acknowledged that gathering all leaders in one place for a single day is practically impossible.
“I am not sure that right now we can all gather offline in one day, but at least we will connect online, and our partners will be in contact”
Why a trilateral format is needed
The head of state noted that any serious plan to end the war requires the involvement of Europe, as many legal and financial issues depend on the EU's position.
“When we talk about this entire path, there are many documents, many things depend on the position of Europe as well. Certainly, we need to find some format in the near future, where not only Ukraine and America will be present, but where Europe will also be represented”
Zelensky also explained how he plans to use Ukraine's constructive position during talks with Trump. If Kyiv is ready for steps toward peace, while Moscow rejects them, this will indicate insufficient pressure on Russia.
Thus, Zelensky's active communication with European leaders emphasizes the importance of international cooperation in the context of negotiations with the U.S. A format that will include all key parties remains a vital condition for achieving progress in peace efforts.
