War in Ukraine – Latest Updates

According to TSN.ua: Industrial sites across Russia have been hit by attacks, severely disrupting the country's ability to manufacture ammunition and missiles. According to Andriy Kovalenko, head of the Center for Countering Disinformation at Ukraine’s National Security and Defense Council (NSDC), at least five facilities involved in producing warhead components have been targeted.

These strikes have also affected Russia's chemical industry, making it harder to produce key materials needed for munitions and missiles. Over the past month, a minimum of five plants critical to Russia's military-industrial complex have been damaged. One of them, the Votkinsk Plant, is known for assembling Iskander and Oreshnik missile systems. Kovalenko emphasized that without these factories operating, Russia's ability to manufacture ammunition is nearly impossible.

“In reality, the only effective way to stop Russia is to cripple its military-industrial complex,” said Andriy Kovalenko.

These developments underscore how attacks on industrial infrastructure can significantly hinder Russia’s capacity to sustain its military campaign in Ukraine.

The strikes may signal a shift in wartime strategy, focusing not only on frontline combat but also on destroying the enemy's production capabilities. Given the importance of the defense industry to Russia, such operations could greatly reduce its ability to continue aggression. This could have long-term consequences for the conflict, as the loss of manufacturing capacity makes it harder to supply troops with essential resources.
