Ukraine and Russia exchanged documents at talks in Istanbul and are preparing for a new prisoner exchange.

Yesterday, talks took place in Istanbul between Ukrainian and Russian delegations. The meeting lasted an hour and was chaired by Turkey's Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan. President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky announced the exchange of documents between the parties and the preparation for a new exchange of prisoners of war.

Outcomes of the Meeting

The start of the negotiations was somewhat delayed due to consultations between the delegations. MFA spokesman Georgiy Tikhiy noted that the focus was on the issue of children that Russia has illegally deported or is holding in occupied territories. The head of the President's Office, Andriy Yermak, announced the transfer of an official list of these children from Ukraine.
