According to UATV: In response to recent Russian attacks on Ukraine's energy infrastructure, which pose a direct threat to nuclear safety, Ukraine has formally initiated a call for Russia's expulsion from the International Atomic Energy Agency's (IAEA) Board of Governors. Ukrainian Energy Minister Denys Shmyhal, during an emergency meeting, stated that Russia is deliberately targeting electrical substations that provide external power to Ukrainian nuclear power plants, thereby knowingly undermining the country's nuclear security. This move highlights the severe risks to facilities that are under international safeguards.

On the night of January 30, Russian drones struck Zaporizhzhia, injuring two women. Separately, on January 30, a passenger bus in Kherson came under fire, resulting in the driver's death and injuries to five passengers. Minister Shmyhal emphasized the urgent need for tangible accountability for these acts of aggression that violate nuclear safety protocols.

Ongoing Threats to Critical Infrastructure

Since the start of the full-scale invasion, the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant has already experienced 12 complete blackouts. Despite a so-called 'energy truce,' Russian military forces have shifted their focus from energy infrastructure to targeting transportation hubs. Attacks continue on Kherson and cities in the Dnipropetrovsk region, most heavily on Nikopol.
