Ukrainian Forces Strike Russian Oil Depots and Warehouses in Occupied Territories.
Ukrainian Defense Forces Conduct Operations
According to TSN.ua: In a series of precision strikes, Ukrainian defense forces have targeted and hit key Russian military infrastructure in occupied territories. These operations, aimed at degrading the enemy's war-fighting capacity, successfully struck oil depots, ammunition dumps, and command posts on March 10 and overnight into March 11, 2023, inflicting significant damage to Russia's logistical and material support.
Among the targets was the command post of a separate Russian motorized rifle brigade near Avdiivka, a critical node in their defensive network. Ukrainian forces also successfully engaged and destroyed a 'Buk-M1' surface-to-air missile system near Bahativka, demonstrating their capability to neutralize enemy air defenses.
Key Infrastructure Targeted
Further strikes hit ammunition warehouses in the Shyroka Balka area. Additional attacks destroyed material and technical supply depots near Mariianivka and Pryshyb, as well as a warehouse containing drones in the Novozlatopil region, which could severely hamper Russian aerial reconnaissance and attack capabilities.
The operation also included strikes on fuel and lubricant storage sites in the Berdiansk and Kuznetsivka districts, with a major oil depot in Berdiansk itself being hit. Furthermore, oil depots near Dzhankoi and Azovsk in Crimea were attacked, further straining the logistical capacity of Russian forces in the region. These coordinated actions underscore Ukraine's determination to disrupt Russian operations and reclaim its sovereign territory. Targeting enemy fuel and supply lines is a classic military strategy to cripple an advancing army's momentum.
These military actions form part of Ukraine's broader strategy to weaken Russia's operational capabilities, which could substantially influence the conflict's trajectory. The successful targeting of critical logistics and command hubs highlights the increasing effectiveness of Ukrainian forces in conducting deep-strike operations, marking a significant phase in efforts to regain control of occupied lands. As the war continues, such strikes on rear-area supply nodes are likely to have a pronounced impact on the tempo and sustainability of Russian military activity across the front.
