Ukraine will be hit by bad weather on December 31: warnings issued in 11 regions.
According to ТСН: On Wednesday, bad weather is expected in Ukraine, affecting several regions. Forecasters have warned of Level I danger.
According to the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center, rain and strong winds will cover 11 regions of Ukraine. Forecasters have issued warnings about dangerous meteorological phenomena.
“During the day in the western regions, as well as in Zhytomyr, Vinnytsia, and Odesa regions, wind gusts will reach 15-20 m/s,” the report states.
As noted in the TSN report, significant cooling is expected at the beginning of the new year. However, the New Year's Eve promises to be magical, as most regions of the country will see snowfall, with heavy snowfalls possible in some areas. Drivers should also be cautious due to icy conditions.
At night on January 1, air temperatures in some regions may drop to record low values. In particular, -16° is forecasted in the Carpathians. In other parts of Ukraine, thermometers will show between -7° and -12°. In the south, temperatures are expected to reach 2° above zero.
Difficult weather conditions in the mountains
It should also be noted that difficult weather conditions are observed in the mountains. Rescuers in Prykarpattia are asking tourists to avoid hiking in high altitudes. As of morning, the weather on Mount Pip Ivan is cloudy with limited visibility. The snowfall is accompanied by a southwestern wind of 15–17 m/s, and the air temperature has dropped to -17°.
Amid negative meteorological forecasts, it is important to follow updates from forecasters and be cautious on the roads, especially during heavy snowfall and winds. Stay sensible and avoid traveling in dangerous weather conditions, especially in the mountains.Read also
