Ukrenergo Introduces Electricity Consumption Restrictions: How Outage Schedules Will Work.
Introduction of Electricity Consumption Restrictions
According to TSN.ua: NEC "Ukrenergo" has announced the introduction of electricity consumption restrictions due to the consequences of missile and drone attacks on energy facilities. According to the new measures, electricity outages will affect all categories of consumers. Starting from January 14, 2023, the implementation of new schedules aimed at optimizing electricity consumption under conditions of limited resources will begin.
Outage Schedules
Hourly Outage Schedules (HOS) will be used for the population, regulating electricity supply for specific hours. This is intended to evenly distribute the load on the power grids. In turn, the industry will introduce Power Limitation Schedules (PLS), which will also contribute to reducing electricity consumption in conditions of resource shortages.
In particular, in Kyiv, Kyiv region, Odesa, and Dnipro, network restrictions affecting electricity consumption in these areas are being applied. For current information on outage schedules, consumers can refer to the official pages of local energy companies and resources of local authorities and media. These measures are aimed at ensuring the stability of the energy system and reducing the impact of attacks on energy facilities.
Introducing electricity consumption restrictions is an important step in ensuring the stability of Ukraine's energy system in the context of the war.
Considering the constant threats from the aggressor, such measures have become necessary for resource conservation and reliable electricity supply. Consumers are advised to keep track of updates regarding outage schedules to minimize inconveniences in their daily lives.
