A new station will be built in Fastiv after the Russian shelling: the decision has been made.

According to ТСН: In Fastiv, located in Kyiv region, plans are underway to build a new railway station to replace the one destroyed as a result of Russian shelling. This decision was made at a meeting of the headquarters dealing with the aftermath of the attack.

Mayor Mykhailo Netiuzhuk reported that the demolition of the destroyed building and the construction of the new station have been coordinated with the head of Ukrzaliznytsia, Oleksandr Pertzovskyi. The project will be presented for public discussions, inviting community residents.

“The decision has been made for the complete demolition of the damaged structure and the construction of a new station in Fastiv. The project will undergo a discussion process — local residents will be involved in its development,” the mayor noted.

The station suffered severe destruction as a result of Russian shelling. Thanks to the efforts of railway workers, State Emergency Service rescuers, communal services, DFTG volunteers, charity workers, and the National Police, it was possible to restore the movement of long-distance passenger trains.

A partial resumption of suburban passenger transportation is scheduled for December 8. According to Netiuzhuk, railway workers are taking all measures to ensure that the connection with Kyiv operates as usual from Monday.

While the new station is under construction, a temporary modular structure will be installed on the platform. Currently, a tent with heating and a waiting area has been set up for passengers.

“Once again, we thank everyone who joined in eliminating the consequences of the enemy shelling. Our strength is in unity,” Netiuzhuk added.

Let us remind that on the night of December 6, Russian attacks destroyed the station in Fastiv, which is an important railway junction through which trains, including long-distance ones, were running.

This initiative reflects the local authorities' desire to restore important infrastructure and support passenger transportation, which are critically important for the residents of Fastiv and surrounding areas. The reconstruction of the station will not only improve transport communication but also symbolize recovery after difficult times.
