Ukrzaliznytsia Alters Train Schedules for February 20, Deploys Buses on Some Routes.
Ukrzaliznytsia Updates Train Timetables
According to TSN.ua: Ukrzaliznytsia, Ukraine's state railway operator, has revised its train schedules for February 20 due to security concerns. Some trains have had their final destinations altered, and on certain sections, buses have been brought in to transport passengers. For instance, regional trains are now temporarily running to and from Konotop.
On the Lozova – Kramatorsk route, passengers are being transported by bus. Regional express trains on the Izium route continue to operate according to schedule. Travel between Dnipro and Zaporizhzhia is now primarily serviced by bus carriers. These adjustments are a common operational response to the ongoing conflict, aiming to maintain essential public transport links.
Specific Schedule Adjustments
Furthermore, train No. 21/22 Kharkiv – Lviv is also operating on a new schedule, which was introduced on February 17. Its departure time from Kharkiv has been shifted from 14:27 to 19:26. These schedule changes come against the backdrop of a heightened security situation in several regions, including Sumy, Kharkiv, Donetsk, and Zaporizhzhia oblasts.
The timetable modifications demonstrate the transport system's adaptation to current security challenges in Ukraine. The use of buses in regions where rail service is disrupted helps ensure citizen mobility under difficult conditions. Passengers are strongly advised to monitor schedule updates closely to avoid inconvenience during their journeys.
