Ukraine's Railways Disrupt Multiple Routes, Terminating Services at Dnipro.
Alterations to Train Schedules
According to TSN.ua: Ukrzaliznytsia, Ukraine's state railway operator, has revised train schedules in response to enemy attacks and adverse weather conditions. Several long-distance routes will now terminate at Dnipro, while passengers in the country's north are being forced to transfer to buses. These disruptions highlight the ongoing challenges to civilian infrastructure during the war.
Route-Specific Service Status
Zaporizhzhia Direction: Trains are only running as far as Dnipro. Affected services include:
- №86/85 Lviv — Zaporizhzhia
- №5/6 Yasinya — Zaporizhzhia
- №39/40 Solotvyno — Zaporizhzhia
- №731/732 Kyiv — Zaporizhzhia
- №128/127 Lviv — Zaporizhzhia
These changes are linked to the current operational situation in the region.
Sumy and Chernihiv Regions: Limitations and Severe Weather. In Sumy Oblast, regional trains are only operating to and from Konotop. In Chernihiv Oblast, delays are possible on the Slavutych and Nizhyn routes due to damage to the overhead power lines, complicating train movement.
Kharkiv and Donbas Directions: Bus Transfers. On the Lozova — Kramatorsk section, passengers are being offered free bus transfers provided by the humanitarian mission 'Proliska'. This measure is intended to facilitate passenger movement under the prevailing conditions. Ukrzaliznytsia continues to monitor the situation and is taking steps to ensure passenger safety.
These schedule modifications reflect the difficult security situation in Ukraine, driven by hostile attacks and unfavorable weather. In responding to these challenges, Ukrzaliznytsia is striving to safeguard passengers by implementing alternative transport solutions like bus transfers. This approach helps maintain public mobility despite the existing hardships.
