Incident in Jerusalem

According to TSN.ua: On March 20, a piece of an intercepted Iranian rocket fell in the Jewish Quarter of Jerusalem’s Old City, landing roughly 400 meters from key religious sites including the Al-Aqsa Mosque, the Western Wall, and the Church of the Holy Sepulchre. The resulting blasts reverberated through central Jerusalem, sparking alarm among both residents and tourists.

Law enforcement rushed to the scene and cordoned off the area following the explosions. One individual was evacuated with minor injuries. The Church of the Holy Sepulchre, which has been closed for several weeks, sustained no damage in the incident.

Response from Israeli Military and International Community

Israeli military officials confirmed that debris from Iranian missiles caused damage in the Old City, particularly near the Temple Mount.

“The explosion was caused by a missile strike, not by interceptor fragments,” stated a representative from the Court of Tamim.
According to Israeli police, the fallen warhead contained tens of kilograms of explosives.

Israel’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs condemned the attack, asserting that

“the Iranian assault on holy sites sacred to all three religions reveals the madness of the Iranian regime.”
The incident has drawn widespread public reaction, underscoring ongoing regional tensions and the hazards posed by armed conflicts.

This event highlights the escalating friction between Israel and Iran, as well as the risks that military confrontations in the region pose to local residents and visitors. The missile’s proximity to sacred locations has sparked international outrage, reinforcing the urgent need for dialogue and peaceful conflict resolution in the Middle East.
