Fastiv Railway Hub Operates with Restrictions: Which Routes Have Been Canceled.
According to ТСН: Ukrzaliznytsia has made adjustments to the suburban train schedule in the Fastiv region of Kyiv Oblast. Some routes will be canceled, and some long-distance trains will pass through Fastiv without stopping.
After a recent shelling, the operation of the Fastiv railway hub has been significantly complicated. Due to damage to the equipment, train movement is being controlled manually with speed restrictions. This causes delays in train movements, which may reach two hours or more.
“Considering safety factors and to prevent emergencies, railway workers are carrying out recovery operations,” the message states.
As of today, long-distance trains are running on backup routes. As a result, tickets for some routes to Fastiv are currently not available for sale. Starting January 13, some trains will not stop at this station.
From December 27, “UZ” introduced restrictions on suburban train operations. The five least loaded daytime routes will temporarily not operate. At the same time, traffic in the directions of the capital, Kozyatyn, Zhytomyr, Boyarka, Vysheve, Bila Tserkva, Myronivka, Tarasivka, Slavutych, Chernihiv, and other cities is ensured. Capital routes will operate with eight cars, and some with ten cars to accommodate more passengers.
It is worth noting that Russia is trying to cut the railway connection with Poland. Russian forces have launched a targeted campaign to destroy the logistics branch “Kyiv–Kovel.” Trains, depots, and bridges are under attack, and drone management is likely occurring from Belarus.
This situation once again underscores the importance of railway connectivity for the country in wartime. Given the ongoing threats, ensuring safety on the railway remains a priority for Ukrzaliznytsia. Monitoring and recovery operations are being conducted so that passengers can reach their routes with maximum comfort and safety.
