According to ТСН: An incident involving a military An-22 aircraft belonging to the Ministry of Defense occurred in the Ivanovo region of Russia. There were seven people on board.
Russian media, citing emergency services, report that the crash took place near the Uvodsky reservoir. Fragments of the aircraft were found in the water, and the aircraft was performing a scheduled flight after repairs.
The Ministry of Defense assures that the aircraft fell in an uninhabited area. A search and rescue team has already left for the scene to clarify the fate of the crew.
The Telegram channel SHOT reported that, preliminarily, seven crew members have died.
Other accidents
It is worth recalling that in December there was another incident in Russia – a passenger aircraft caught fire. At an altitude of over 2000 meters, a Boeing 777-200 flying from Moscow to Phuket had an engine fire. The fire was extinguished, but the aircraft circled in the air for an hour and a half.
Also, in October, a plane crashed in the Krasnoyarsk region of Russia, presumably owned by LLC "Bor`;u`. In the An-2 aviation disaster, two crew members died, and preliminary data suggests that the incident occurred after performing aviation work.
This incident involving the military aircraft is yet another tragedy in a series of accidents in Russian aviation that have recently attracted media and expert attention. The search for the crew continues, and observers hope for a quick clarification of the causes of the crash. In this regard, the response of the Ministry of Defense and the assessment of air transport safety in the country are important.
