Tragedy on the call: how the team leader died

“Serhiy Smolyak worked with us as a paramedic for three years. He was a positive and wonderful person, a competent and dedicated specialist. He never refused to respond to calls. This was also the case last night when the tragedy happened. It occurred on Bazhana Avenue at 2:37 a.m. Three medical teams were dispatched to the location. When our colleagues were about to leave, a second strike occurred. Serhiy Smolyak died on the spot. Four more medics were injured as a result of this attack: two paramedics and two dispatch nurses,” — says

Mykola Blyzniuk, Deputy Director of the Center for Emergency Medical Assistance and Disaster Medicine.

Serhiy's colleagues are shocked by this loss, as they have lost a high-class specialist who always worked with a smile, despite the circumstances, and was ready to help at any moment. Four of his colleagues also suffered injuries.

“Serhiy Mykolayovych worked with us for three years. He never once refused a call. And this time, as the team leader of the medics, he immediately responded to the call because he was the soul of the team, and the Russians cowardly killed him,” — adds
